These stylish rustic journals beautifully handmade from untreated leather, dyed with vegetable extract and tree bark. Using age old techniques, each piece is the handiwork of one artisan from start to finish. Working as part of a cooperative of families providing fair employment and equal opportunities. The leather is a by-product.
Our Journals are filled with beautiful handmade paper, created from pieces of recycled cotton rag. This ancient paper making skill has been passed on through generations. Cotton paper has the additional benefit of being tree free as no wood pulp is used. Each sheet is painstakingly made by hand and dried by the sun before being bound in leather and carefully hand stitched.
To care for your journal, we recommend storing in a dry place. Regularly wipe the leather with a soft, dry cloth and avoid any contact with moisture or heat. Due to the nature of the leather, the colour will change over time and will fade if left in direct sunlight.

I ordered 1 A5 notebook and 5 turned up, not sure why but I'm happy to use them. One or two have marks on so maybe that's why the rest seem OK. Good quality notebooks and the paper seems decent. I've yet to try writing in them with my fountain pen but I'm sure they'll be fine. Overall I'm very happy with the product and service.

I love that these journals have cotton paper which is more tactile and better for using with watercolors.
My only wish is that the leather folded over and wrapped around more like other journals do. This protects the pages better and is sturdier. Also the leather tie is a bit short and thin which doesn’t help,
