At nkuku we proudly use natural, reclaimed and recycled materials as we believe in celebrating the beauty of the natural world, reusing resources and minimising waste wherever we can. Our Nazat glass lamp shade is no exception. The frame is made from sheet metal, precisely cut to the specific design, then heated and hand-shaped to form the structure. Skilled makers then expertly weld the parts together, ensuring flawless joins before adding an antique brass finish to create a beautifully aged aesthetic. We use recycled glass to make the panels. Firstly, the waste glass is collected and washed to remove any impurities; it is then crushed and melted down before being shaped to the frame.
To care for this shade, use a soft, dry microfiber cloth to gently wipe the glass in a circular motion on a regular basis. Please do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Do not clean in hot soapy water.

Recycled glass is washed before being crushed and melted down by skilled glassmakers. Each recycled glass piece is gently mouth-blown, creating irregular mottled patterning that renders each piece totally unique and pleasingly opulent.
