Versatile and functional, this beautifully woven basket has a traditional kilim design depicted in warm tones of rust and natural jute to bring a touch of muted colour to a bedroom, landing or bathroom scheme. With handles for ease of carrying and a soft cotton lining, this basket comes with a lid to keep items discreetly out of sight. Also ideal for storing towels or blankets, it is the perfect blend of utility and aesthetic appeal.
How it's made
Jute is a great natural material that we love to use as it is a rain-fed crop that has little need for fertiliser or pesticides. It is a natural vegetable fibre that can be spun into strong and durable threads. These baskets are made on pit looms, an age-old technique where makers work with looms fitted into pits. Seated at ground level, they manipulate pedals to weave natural materials into individual designs. This method allows for precise control and intricate patterns, showcasing the skill and tradition embedded in each handmade piece.

Care instructions
To care for your basket, we recommend using a soft-bristle brush to regularly remove any build up of dust. Use a mild soap and water on a soft cloth to wipe away any dirt. Please do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Colour may fade in sunlight. Indoor use only.
