How it's made
This rug combines the beauty, durability and softness of wool with jute, which is one of our favourite materials at nkuku. We love it for being completely biodegradable and recyclable, incredibly efficient to grow, and beautifully hardwearing with a smooth finish. It is a rain-fed crop that has little need for fertilisers or pesticides and as a natural vegetable fibre can be spun into strong and durable threads. Woven on a traditional Indian handloom representing one of India's most ancient crafts, it embodies centuries of heritage. Our rugs honour this legacy, meticulously woven, braided, and stitched by skilled makers using age-old techniques. Each piece celebrates the artistry and craftsmanship passed down through generations.

Care instructions
To care for these rugs, clean spills immediately by blotting with clean sponge or cloth. Take care when vacuuming. We do not recommend the use of vacuums with rotating brush as these may damage the rug fibres. Can be professionally cleaned. Colours may fade in direct sunlight. Due to the nature of the materials used, some shedding of fibre is to be expected.
