Design story
This simply woven basket, in complementary tones of natural jute and cream, fits into any living scheme, creating extra storage that can easily be packed away when not in use. We find fabric baskets are supremely versatile and useful for clearing away clutter, helping to create a tidy, organised home, while adding texture, warmth and aesthetic appeal to a room. With handles for ease of carrying and a soft cotton lining, this basket is perfect for clearing clutter neatly away, blending utility and aesthetic appeal.
How it's made
Jute is a great natural material that we love to use as it is a rain-fed crop that has little need for fertiliser or pesticides. It is a natural vegetable fibre that can be spun into strong and durable threads. These baskets are made on pit looms, an age-old technique. Seated at ground level, the makers manipulate pedals to weave natural materials into individual designs. This method allows for precise control and intricate patterns, showcasing the skill and tradition embedded in each handmade piece.

Care instructions
To care for your basket, we recommend using a soft-bristle brush to regularly remove any build up of dust. Use a mild soap and water on a soft cloth to wipe away any dirt. Please do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Colour may fade in sunlight. Indoor use only.
