Our Dimalai Recycled Glass Table Lamp is a beautiful modern twist on the classic mushroom lamp. It features a mouth-blown, organically shaped base and a fluted shade, both crafted from recycled glass. The ribbed design in smoke brown finish casts a warm, diffused light, making it perfect for bedside use. Although its unique, soft silhouette adds a touch of elegance to any space.
At nkuku we proudly use natural, reclaimed and recycled materials as we believe in celebrating the beauty of the natural world, reusing resources and minimising waste wherever we can. Crafted from recycled glass, our Dimalai table lamp is no exception. Firstly, the waste glass is collected and washed to remove any impurities; it is then crushed and melted down before being mouth blown or placed in moulds to create the required shape. A smoke brown antique finish is then applied.
To care for this lamp, use a soft, dry microfiber cloth to gently wipe the glass in a circular motion on a regular basis. Please do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. We recommend removing the lampshade and ensuring unplugged when cleaning.

Recycled glass is washed before being crushed and melted down by skilled glassmakers. Each recycled glass piece is gently mouth-blown, creating irregular mottled patterning that renders each piece totally unique and pleasingly opulent.

This lamp gives off a gentle glow if you fit an amber G45 golfball bulb. I started with a 40 watt equivalent LED bulb which was too bright so replaced with 20 watt equivalent (2.5w 200 lumen). Also noted that the shade sits low so the bulb sits very close to the top and didn't illuminate the whole shade. Ended up buying a spare lamp bulb collar and screwing that onto the bulb housing before adding the shade frame - this lifts it up slightly. Don't use a normal sized bulb as it will be too tall for the shade.
Deducted stars due to the way the shade sits too low compared to the position of the bulb.

The lamp was a good choice in terms of appearance. However, the glass shade sits on top of the brass frame with no specific fixing, which (I feel) could make it vulnerable in the wrong setting.
