Our Japhali shelf combines natural mango wood and classic black ironmongery to create an elegant ‘farmhouse’ aesthetic. Its understated design makes it a versatile and timeless way to store household items. Mango wood is a sustainable material - the wood is only harvested once the trees have stopped bearing fruit - so this shelf provides an environmentally friendly form of storage. The shelf is well suited to a kitchen but it looks stylish in almost any interior. Available in multiple sizes.
To care for your mango wood wash in warm soapy water, rinse and dry immediately. Because it is a tropical plant, mango wood is best suited to humid environments; with daily use in a home with central heating, it can be at risk of drying out if not cared for, which may cause cracking or warping. To take the best care of your mango wood, you can treat it with natural oils that you have on hand at home such as Olive Oil or Walnut Oil, using a soft cloth for application. These oils will nourish, but not permanently soak into the wood, so if you wash them off you must reapply them. Please note adding oil may darken the tone of the wood.
